  CYBERSECURITY JOB HUNTING GUIDE

Conclusion

Author: Stefan Waldvogel
This website looks huge, but it shows a tiny part of things that you can do to get a job. Be creative and find your way. Use everything to your advantage.
Remember, if you want the first job in Cybersecurity, you compete against many people. Let us say all read this guide and all watch all videos and study all links… this becomes the new minimum standard and if you want a job, do more to get your job.

At the moment, if you follow this guide and/or some mentioned resources, you have a better chance to get your role.
If you do not have a job right now, go on and study every single day. Remember, networking is a huge part of it, do not focus all your energy on technical knowledge. See the big bridge, use all bricks to build the bridge, and help others to build their bridge into Cybersecurity.

This sounds weird, right? Why should you take care of your competition and your “enemies”? My answer is: It took me hundreds of hours to create and build such a website. I believe it is more worth studying two weeks for tcpdump or other technical tools because helping people is my passion and this website shows it. Maybe an employer is looking for a helpful person, an educator, or someone who will go the extra step. Cybersecurity is about protecting something, it is about trust, it is about teamwork and it is about helping. Knowledge about a technical tool does not show my personality, and I can learn a tool at any time.

Remember, I do not have a job and I give you my knowledge for free so you can find your role. You are not my enemy; you are a person on the same dangerous road with the same goal!
I am looking forward to the discussion, especially for “I disagree” posts. Do not be shy, I want to learn more and I can do it if you help me with your opinion!
